Why people here choose it

What online therapy solves in Tucson

When the local waitlist is full

Tucson has therapists. What it does not always have is one with an opening soon, in your network, who works with what you are carrying. Looking past the city limits is often what gets you seen.

The whole practice, not the nearest one

Every therapist here works with Tucson clients. You are choosing from all of them, by fit, rather than from whoever happens to be down the road.

No lobby, no run-ins

Tucson is big enough to have specialists and small enough to run into someone you know. A session from your own front room stays yours.

The people you would see

Every one of them is available to you

Our offices are in the Phoenix metro, but where a therapist sits has nothing to do with whether they are right for you. All of them work by video, and by phone if you would rather. One of our therapists, Lorena Valle, sees clients in Spanish.

What a session costs from Tucson

Nothing about the price changes because you are meeting online. We are in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare/Optum, and your copay works exactly as it would at an office visit. Self-pay starts at $50 a session.

We are not an AHCCCS provider. If AHCCCS is your coverage, we are not the right practice for you, and we would rather say so here than after you have spent a week waiting on us. We check your benefits for free before your first session either way.

If you need help right now

Tucson and Pima County crisis lines

We are a therapy practice, not an emergency service, and we are not staffed around the clock. If you need someone tonight, these people are there.

  • 988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call or text, any time.
  • 1-866-495-6735 — the crisis line serving Pima County.
  • 1-844-534-4673 — Arizona’s statewide crisis hotline, or text 4HOPE to 44673.
  • 911 — if someone is in immediate danger.
Tucson online therapy FAQ

Questions people in Tucson ask us

Do you have an office in Tucson?
No. Our offices are in the Phoenix metro, and we see Tucson clients entirely by video or phone. If sitting in a room with your therapist is important to you, a local Tucson practice is the better choice and we will say so. If what matters is finding the right person and starting soon, distance stops being a factor.
Can I see one of your therapists if I live in Tucson?
Yes. Every therapist here is licensed for the whole state of Arizona, which is what determines who they can work with — not how far away they sit. Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, Vail, Green Valley, Sahuarita and the rest of Pima County all work the same way.
Is online therapy as effective as meeting in person?
For most concerns, the research says it is. A 2021 review pooled 47 controlled studies and found no meaningful difference in outcomes between therapy by video and therapy in person, with the strongest results for anxiety and depression. In our own practice, most clients choose telehealth and do the real work of therapy on screen.
Do you take AHCCCS?
No. We are in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare/Optum, and we see self-pay clients starting at $50 a session. We are not an AHCCCS provider. If AHCCCS is your coverage, we are not the right fit, and it is better that you know that before you call.
Do you have a therapist who speaks Spanish?
Yes. Lorena Valle sees clients in Spanish, by video or by phone, anywhere in Arizona. You can ask for her by name when you reach out.
Can I do therapy over the phone instead of video?
Yes. A phone session is a real session, with the same therapist and the same hour, covered the same as an in-person visit. Tell your therapist you would rather talk than be on camera.
Do I have to be in Arizona during my session?
Yes. You need to be physically located in Arizona while the session is happening. That is a licensing rule and it is about where you are at the time, not where you live. If you travel out of state, you and your therapist can plan around it.
What if I move between Tucson and Phoenix?
Nothing changes. You keep the same therapist, the same appointment and the same rate anywhere in Arizona. If you land in the Valley and want to start coming in person, our offices are there and you can switch to a mix of both.
