How we help

Evidence-based, trauma-informed PTSD treatment

Our trauma-informed therapists use evidence-based approaches for trauma and PTSD treatment, including EMDR, cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and somatic and Brainspotting work. You go at a pace that feels manageable, and you do not have to relive every detail to make progress. The goal is to help your mind and body settle, so the memory loses its grip and daily life feels more like your own again.

You're not alone in this

Does any of this sound familiar?

Something you went through still surfaces when you least expect it
On edge or easily startled, never quite able to relax
Avoiding the people, places, or reminders that bring it back
Feeling numb, or like you're watching your life from outside
If any of this fits, you're in the right place. What happened to you matters, and healing is possible.

Understanding trauma

What trauma really is

Trauma is not measured by how big an event looks from the outside. It is about how it lived in your body and stayed there. Long after something is over, it can show up as flashbacks or nightmares, feeling on edge or easily startled, avoiding reminders, or a numbness that holds the world at arm's length.

Whether it traces to a single event or years of them, trauma responds to therapy, even when it happened long ago. You do not have to relive every detail to heal, and you do not have to carry it alone.

What type of therapy is best for trauma and PTSD? ~~ The most researched trauma therapies include EMDR, cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and prolonged exposure. Our therapists are trained in EMDR, CPT, and other trauma-focused approaches, and help you choose what fits what you are working through. ||| How does EMDR therapy work? ~~ EMDR uses gentle back-and-forth eye movements or taps while you briefly bring a memory to mind, which helps your brain reprocess it so it loses its charge. You do not have to describe every detail out loud. ||| Do I have to talk about the trauma in detail? ~~ Not in the way people often fear. You set the pace, and several trauma approaches help you process a memory without describing every detail out loud. Your therapist explains the options and works with what feels manageable. ||| How do I know if I need therapy for past trauma? ~~ If something from the past still shows up now, through flashbacks, nightmares, feeling on edge, avoiding reminders, or numbness, therapy can help even if it happened a long time ago. You do not have to know what to call it to reach out. ||| Does insurance cover trauma therapy, and what does it cost? ~~ Often, yes. We are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare/Optum, so most people pay a copay set by their plan. We also offer transparent cash rates, and we confirm your exact cost before your first session. ||| Can I do trauma therapy online? ~~ Yes. We offer telehealth for anyone located in Arizona, so you can meet from home. You do need to be physically in Arizona during the session, and you can switch between online and in person anytime. ||| How soon can I get in? ~~ Our care team usually replies the same business day, and most new clients are seen within a few days, rarely more than a week. If you need to be seen sooner, tell us and we'll do our best to fit you in. Telehealth often opens up soonest.
