This Privacy Policy explains how The Healing Effect, LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("The Healing Effect," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information collected through thehealingeffect.co (the "Website").
This policy is separate from our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. This Privacy Policy covers information collected through our Website (for example, browsing our pages or submitting our contact form). The health and treatment information you share once you become a client is governed by our separate HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, available on our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices page.
Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, request an appointment, or use tools like our clinician-matching or cost-estimate features, we collect what you provide, typically your name, email, phone number, and the reason you're reaching out. Please don't send detailed clinical, crisis, or sensitive health information through the Website; the form is a way to start a conversation, not a secure clinical or emergency channel.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our providers automatically collect technical data such as your device and browser type, IP address, general location, the pages you view, and how you arrived. We use cookies and similar technologies to make the Website work and to understand how it's used. Our current providers include Webflow (hosting), HubSpot (forms and communications), and Google, including Google Analytics and Google Ads with related conversion and remarketing tracking, along with other analytics and advertising tools we may add. These tools help us understand site traffic, measure our advertising, and show our ads to people who have visited the Website. We do not use these tools to collect, share, or target advertising based on your protected health information, and we work to keep identifiable health information off of pages that carry advertising or analytics trackers. You can control cookies through your browser settings, opt out of personalized Google advertising through your Google Ads Settings, and use the industry opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and youradchoices.com. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Website works.
We use information to respond to your inquiry and connect you with the right clinician; to schedule and provide services; to operate, secure, and improve the Website; to understand how visitors use it; and to meet our legal obligations. Where we send informational or marketing messages, we do so only as permitted and with any legally required consent, and you can opt out at any time. We do not sell your personal information.
We use trusted providers, including Webflow and HubSpot, to run the Website and our practice; they may process information on our behalf and are expected to protect it. Where a provider handles protected health information on our behalf, we put a Business Associate Agreement in place as HIPAA requires. We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our clients, staff, or the public.
We keep Website inquiry information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Clinical records are kept separately under Arizona law: generally at least six years after the last date of service for adults, and for minors until the later of six years after the last service or the client's 21st birthday, consistent with A.R.S. § 12-2297 and the rules of the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (A.A.C. R4-6-1103).
You can opt out of marketing messages anytime, manage cookies through your browser, and contact us to ask what Website information we hold about you or to correct or delete it. Requests about your medical or treatment records are handled under our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, not this policy.
The Website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do provide counseling to minors, but those services are arranged directly with a parent or legal guardian: before treatment begins, we obtain written consent from the parent or guardian and, as appropriate for the child's age, the minor's assent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the Website, please contact us and we will delete it.
The Website may link to third-party sites we don't control; their privacy practices are their own. We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no internet transmission is completely secure.
