Taylor Hale, LAC

Taylor Hale, LAC — child and teen therapist, The Healing Effect Phoenix AZ

Meet Taylor

Family relationships can be both deeply meaningful and incredibly hard. Whether you are a child trying to make sense of big emotions, a teenager navigating something you don't quite have words for yet, a parent trying to reach a child who has pulled away, or a couple feeling more disconnected than connected, the weight of those experiences is real. Finding a space where all of it can be said out loud, at whatever pace feels right, is often the first step toward something better.

I am an attachment-focused therapist who works with children ages 8 through 18, teens, adults, families, and couples. My approach is integrative and creative, drawing on Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman couples methods, play therapy, sand tray therapy, and expressive arts including art and music therapy. For children and teens especially, I understand that healing does not always happen through conversation alone, and I meet young clients in the ways that feel most natural and safe for them. I also bring specialized experience working with children and families navigating foster care, adoption, trauma, abuse, school-related challenges, and family conflict.

I believe that reaching out for support is one of the most courageous things you can do, especially when life already feels busy and overwhelming. Wherever you are in your journey, I am here to build a trusted, collaborative relationship with you as you care for yourself, your child, or your relationship.

How Taylor Helps

Taylor's approach is rooted in attachment theory, the belief that our earliest relationships shape how we connect, communicate, and cope throughout our lives. Whether she is working with a child, a teenager, a couple, or a family, the goal is always the same, to create a space where people feel genuinely safe, understood, and supported as they do the work of healing and growing.

For children and teens, Taylor uses an integrative approach that includes play therapy, sand tray therapy, and expressive arts such as art and music therapy. These methods allow young clients to process difficult experiences in ways that feel natural and accessible, without requiring them to have the words for what they are carrying. Taylor also draws on trauma-informed and attachment-based perspectives, helping children and teens build emotional regulation skills, strengthen their sense of self, and repair connections with the people who matter most to them.

For couples, Taylor integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gottman techniques to help partners understand each other more deeply, communicate with greater care, and rebuild trust and intimacy. For adults and families, she uses a combination of attachment-based therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and expressive approaches tailored to each client's specific needs and goals. Taylor is also currently completing her EMDR certification, expanding her ability to support clients working through trauma and PTSD.
